Members go free

Under-5s get free entry to the Royal Observatory and to special exhibitions at the National Maritime Museum. Under-4s get free admission to Cutty Sark.

Royal Museums Greenwich is in London zone 2. It’s just ten minutes from central London by rail, or a quick and easy journey by DLR or boat.

Nearest stations: Cutty Sark DLR, Greenwich rail station/DLR, Maze Hill rail station, Greenwich Pier (for boat)

You’ll find a great range of maritime- and astronomy-inspired gifts and goodies at our National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory shops – from ship models, watches and jewellery to telescopes, stargazing guides and toys for little astronauts.

Family visits

Royal Museums Greenwich welcomes visitors of all ages, and offers plenty of activities and events for children, many of them free. Our cafés also welcome children and families, with most offering special menus for our youngest guests.

Facilities and access 

Cloakrooms and baggage 

There is a cloakroom (£1 per item) on the ground floor of the National Maritime Museum, to the right of the ticket desk in the Sammy Ofer wing. There are no cloakroom facilities at the Royal Observatory or Cutty Sark but visitors are welcome to use those at the National Maritime Museum.


All cafés and gift shops across the Royal Museums Greenwich sites are wheelchair-accessible and all our museums have accessible toilets. Guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are welcome across all our sites. We also offer free admission to carers accompanying visitors with disabilities.
